Welcome to Shrido, the carpooling app that connects Drivers and Passengers for shared transportation. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") outlines how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you use our Carpool App. By accessing or using the Carpool App, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.
Ride Shrido Pty Ltd ABN 67 661 983 188 (company) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
"Carpool App" refers to the mobile application “Shrido – Share and Go” and its associated functionality provided by our company (also referred to as “we” and “us” in this Policy).
"User" refers to any individual who accesses or uses the Carpool App. A User may be either or both of a Driver and Passenger.
"Driver" refers to a User who offers to provide transportation through the Carpool App.
"Passenger" refers to a User who requests and uses transportation through the Carpool App.
a. Personal Information: When you register an account or use the Carpool App, we may collect certain personal information, such as your name, email address, phone number, and payment details. We may also collect information about your location when you use our Carpool App.
b. Location Information: The Carpool App collects and uses your location data, both in the foreground and background, to facilitate carpooling services. This includes:
• Driver Notifications: To notify you when your driver is nearby, even when your screen is off.
• Trip Tracking: To enable accurate tracking of your ride from pick-up to drop-off, even if the app is running in the background.
• Route Matching: To match users with overlapping journeys and optimize travel based on location. Location data is collected only when the Carpool App is in use or running in the background, as required for these purposes.
c. Usage Information: We collect information about how you interact with the Carpool App, including your ride history, preferences, and settings. This includes information about the rides you request or provide, as well as ratings and feedback provided by Users.
d. Device Information: We automatically collect certain information about the devices you use to access the Carpool App, such as the device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
e. Log Information: When you use the Carpool App, our servers automatically record certain log data, including your IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, and other usage information.
a. Provide and Improve Services: We use the information collected to facilitate and personalize the carpooling services provided through the Carpool App. This includes matching Drivers and Passengers, processing payments, and improving the functionality and user experience of the Carpool App.
b. Communication: We may use your personal information to communicate with you regarding your account, updates, promotions, or important notices related to the Carpool App.
c. Safety and Security: We use information to ensure the safety and security of our Users and to prevent fraudulent or unauthorised activities. This may involve verifying your identity, conducting security investigations, and monitoring and addressing violations of our terms and conditions.
d. Analytics and Aggregated Data: We may use the information collected for analytics purposes, such as analysing usage trends, monitoring the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns, and generating aggregated and anonymised data to improve our services.
a. Service Providers: We may engage third-party service providers to perform services on our behalf, such as processing payments, hosting the Carpool App, and analysing data. These service providers have access to your personal information only to the extent necessary to perform their functions and are obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of your information.
b. Compliance with Laws: We may disclose your personal information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes. This includes responding to requests from law enforcement agencies, government authorities, or legal proceedings.
c. Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred to the acquiring company or third party involved in the transaction. We will notify you before your personal information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. We will also retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration. However, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information.
We will notify you as soon as possible if a data breach has occurred that involves your personal information. In those circumstances, we may tell you what has occurred, what personal information was involved, what the implications are, what you can do, and what we will do to address the breach.
a. Access and Correction: You have the right to access and correct your personal information held by us. You can update or modify your account information through the Carpool App.
b. Account Deletion:
• User-Initiated Deletion: Users may delete their account by pressing the "Delete Account" button within the Carpool App. When this option is selected, a warning pop-up will appear informing the user that all their personal data and accumulated Shrido points will be permanently deleted. Users will have the option to contact us at support@shrido.com.au if they wish to redeem their points for an equivalent gift card before proceeding with account deletion.
• Confirmation and Forfeiture of Points: If the user selects "Yes" to confirm the deletion, all personally identifiable information and Shrido points will be permanently deleted, and the user's data will be anonymized for specific operational data such as ride history and transaction history. Anonymized data is retained to maintain the functionality and operational needs of the app.
• Option to Redeem Points Before Deletion: If the user selects "No" in the warning pop-up and contacts support@shrido.com.au, we will arrange the conversion of accumulated Shrido points into an equivalent gift card value before initiating the deletion of the user's account and data.
c. Retention of Necessary Data: Certain non-personal or anonymized data (e.g., trip history, payment records) may be retained for legal, compliance, and operational purposes, but it will no longer be linked to the user's identity. Financial transaction records or dispute history will be retained as required by law (e.g., for tax or regulatory compliance).
d. No Recovery of Account or Points Upon User-Initiated Deletion: Once your account is deleted, both the account and any associated Shrido points cannot be recovered. If you wish to use the Carpool App again, you will need to create a new account.
e. Marketing Communications: You can unsubscribe from our marketing communications at any time by following the instructions provided in the communication or by adjusting your account settings.
The Carpool App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the revised Policy on our website or through other communication channels. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically for the most up-to-date information.
